Bridal Shower Checklist

Who doesn’t love attending bridal showers? We all look forward to the games, food, music, stories, and most especially, the friends who will be there as well. But what if it was your turn to plan one? Do you even have any idea on how and where to begin? Planning a bridal shower can be an overwhelming task. With a lot of things to take care of including food, activities, friends, guests, etc., it may be difficult for you to organize things. Remember that you would be planning a bridal shower with your friends, and if you do not manage to plan the activities and distribute responsibilities properly, it may not turn out to be a wonderful bridal shower. You wouldn’t want to disappoint the bride, would you? Well, believe it or not, one of the oldest yet most effective ways of planning and organizing things to ensure that everything needed to be done gets done is by using a checklist, or rather, a bridal shower checklist in your case.

You have to include in your checklist the things you have to get done before a certain number of months prior to the shower. For example, three months or more before the bridal shower, the following are the things you need to do:

  • settle the date
  • ask her where she wants the bridal shower to be held
  • ask if she wants alcoholic drinks to be served
  • ask the bride-to-be if she wants a theme, e.g., Hawaiian
  • make necessary restaurant or spa reservations if applicable
  • create and finalize the guest list

The next things to be written on the bridal shower checklist are the things you must do two months before and until the bridal shower. The guide hereunder would be helpful:

 2 Months before:

  • notify the guests of when the bridal shower is going to be
  • plan your budget
  • buy or create invitations
  • meet with your friends and other persons you are planning the shower with
  • order needed special items or rental items which you may have to use such as tables, chairs, balloons, food, etc.
  • list down the tasks to do and assign these tasks
  • finalize the guest list

 1 Month before:

  • send the invitations
  • buy needed materials such as art supplies, confetti, colored papers, party spray, and other decorative items
  • if some guests said that they would bring food, call them to confirm

 2 Weeks before:

  • if you plan to order flowers, place an order by this time
  • purchase YOUR gift for the bride-to-be
  • purchase the alcoholic drinks if you will have them
  • buy needed utensils such as plates, punch bowls, etc.
  • make a list of food and drinks to buy
  • if there are some ingredients that are usually difficult to find, find them buy them now

 1 Week Before:

  • confirm any reservation you have made
  • confirm all the orders you have placed, e.g.,  food, flowers, etc. and the time they will be delivered
  • confirm RSVPs
  • buy the things you have included in the shopping list
  • plan the games to play

 1 Day Before:

  • do all the preparatory tasks
  • set up the decorations, tables, chairs, games, and giveaways
  • contact any of the other hostesses to ask what time they will be arriving and to confirm what they will be bringing, if any

And lastly, the last part of your bridal shower checklist is the list of things to on the actual day of the shower party itself. These will include preparing all the food, refreshments, games, decorations, etc. Do not stress yourself! Remember that this day should be a day of fun. Anyway, if anything goes wrong, then show must go on! You can laugh about it later but while the party is on, go with the flow.
