Baby showers are the time to give the mother-to-be many things she will need for the expected arrival of the new member to her family. It is a time for family and friends to share their experiences and stories as well as the special time of bonding with the new mother-to-be.

Planning the baby shower does not have to be a challenging task it should be fun and exciting. Here are some ideas for the baby shower to help make it the fun and memory filled day for everyone.

Decide on the type of baby shower food. The food can be used as centerpieces based on any baby item theme. Use cakes shaped as diapers cribs safety pins or booties. Instead of the traditional cake try ice cream cakes or cheesecakes.

Traditionally the colors are pink and blue but you can also incorporate pastels of yellow green and yellow. Find out the décor of the baby room and use the theme from the room to really impress the mother-to-be.

The party theme is generally related to bottles, diapers, pacifiers, booties, and cribs as well as stuffed animals. If the mother-to-be knows the sex of the baby, as most mothers are currently aware due to the different tests, use the sex of the baby for a more customized theme. You can also use storks and angels for the theme that will be good for either sex.

Decorating can use the pacifiers, diaper pins, booties, and stuffed animals. Use the real thing so when the shower is over the mother-to-be has more to use for the baby! One idea is to thread ribbon through the different items and hang from the ceiling or light fixtures.

The games and entertainment are often either the most fun or most dreaded part of the baby shower. Make it fun by placing pacifiers in a large baby bottle and have the guest guess the number inside the bottle. Play baby bingo. Play telephone line with the first person says something about being a parent then pass it down the line to see the funny miscommunication.
